Lowline Cattle for
sale
Why Pick Lowlines?
Lowline Cattle are the right size for the small acreage owner and the commercial market. Lowlines are generally 60% of the size average Angus cattle. They are perfectly proportioned, genetically pure, miniature versions of the larger Angus relatives. Their reduced size allows for lighter birth weights and excellent calving ease.
Lowlines are a low maintenance and cost efficient. Their feeding requirements on
average are 30% less than larger cattle. Their stocking rate is greater per acre
and their ability to finish on grass without any corn or grain supplement makes
them the beef breed of the future.
Cattle of the herd are naturally docile and very easily handled.
THE HISTORY
The Australian lowline cattle were developed from a Angus herd which was established at the Trangie research center in 1929 to provide quality breeding stock for the NSW cattle industry. The herd was reinforced with imports from Canada, the United States, and Scotland between 1930 and 1950.This herd has produced numerous champion bulls and cows.
The lowline cattle raised at Squalicum Ridge Ranch are all registered. They are also steroid and hormone free. In an average year we have 20-30 purebred and percentage calf's for sale. We also have bulls ,steers, and pregnant checked cows available. We are able to ship anywhere.
